Cheese Potato Veg Balls

Cheese Potato Veg Balls is a extra tasty and cheesy alternative to the regular mashed potatoes and just the fried potato fingers. This is an exquisite dish, composed of mashed potatoes and mashed cottage cheese (paneer) flavoured with a touch of coriander leaves and chopped green chilies. For better nutrition and taste, grated carrots and some nuts are added. These carrots gives a good colour and is very appealing too for kids.

The Cheese Potato Veg Balls can also be added in the rich-creamy gravy and can be enjoyed with rice and any Indian Bread too. Thus, it can be changed to a main dish too.

Ingredients:


1. Mashed boiled potatoes - 2 cups (around 5 to 6 potatoes of medium size)
2. Mashed cottage cheese (paneer) - 1/2 cup (Grate the paneer if it is store bought)
3. Chopped green chillies - 3 to 4 no.
4. Carrots - 1 no. (grated finely)
5. Finely chopped nuts - 3 tbsp. (Almonds, cashews or any)
6. Corrainder leaves - 1/4 cup (chopped finely)
7. Salt to taste
8. Oil for deep frying

Cooking Method:

1. In a bowl mix mashed boiled potatoes, mashed paneer, chopped green chilies, chopped corainder leaves and salt.

2. Now form a round-shapped even balls out of the mixture and make a space in between this to fill the grated carrot and nuts. Once you make the space of the stuffing, stuff first the grated carrot and then the finely chopped nuts and close the potato mixture and form round balls and keep aside.


3. Heat oil in a deep frying pan and fry these stuffed balls until you get a nice golden colour. This cooks very fast as the potatoes are already cooked and other ingredients does not take time to cook further.

4. This is a tasty monsoon tea-time snack for everyone in the family and especially for kids. Enjoy this delicious cheese veg balls with a cup of tea.

Note:

1. Here the potatoes are added in enough quantity to bind other ingredients. If the panner is added in more quantity, while frying the cheese potato balls might burst.

2. Here corn flour is not required but incase you wish to add more paneer then just coat the balls in the cornflour and then fry these.

3. More veggies boiled and mashed can also be added to make it more nutritious depending upon your choice.
